Liberty and Virtue

A person who experiences same sex attraction and who endeavors to live chastely in accordance with his religious beliefs keeps an eye out for examples of gay activists' (1) showing intolerance and hatred of traditional religious and moral beliefs and believers, (2) attempting to deny freedom of speech, assembly and religion to others, and (3) trying to cause the government to impose liberal views on sexual morality on society. Other stuff of interest to blogger may also occasionally be posted.

Gay activists do not speak for all those who experience same sex attraction!

Not all those with SSA reject traditional sexual morality!

Not all those with SSA support promiscuity!

Not all those with SSA believe the gay activist ideology of “gay pride”!

Not all those with SSA believe in making their sex drive their primary public identity!

Not all those with SSA support public indecency in “gay pride” parades!

Not all those with SSA support government promotion of homosexual activity!

Not all those with SSA support same sex marriage!

Not all those with SSA support biased teaching in public schools on homosexual matters!

Not all those with SSA demonize traditional religious believers!

Not all those with SSA wish to deny basic freedoms of speech, religion and association to those who disagree with the gay activists’ ideology and agenda!

Christian charity for persons does not require affirmation of sinful or immoral activity!

Public School Gay Ideology Indoctrination Watch

From "'Anti-gay' students must keep quiet:"

In its mandatory "diversity training" classes, a school district has instructed students who believe homosexual behavior is wrong to keep their opinions to themselves, prompting a federal lawsuit.

The Arizona-based Alliance Defense Fund filed a motion for preliminary injunction [PDF file] yesterday to immediately prohibit the Boyd County, Kentucky, Board of Education from restricting the free-speech rights of its students.

"We are filing this motion because students are being forbidden from expressing their own viewpoint on this matter," said ADF Senior Legal Counsel Kevin Theriot. "That's unconstitutional, and it must stop."

The motion was filed in a Feb. 15 lawsuit brought by Timothy Allen Morrison and other students and their parents against the education board.

The training itself began as a result of the settlement of another lawsuit filed against the board by the Boyd County High School Gay-Straight Alliance, represented by the American Civil Liberties Union.

"The school district is attempting to change the beliefs of students without their parents' consent," Theriot said. "The provisions of any settlement arrangement must respect the constitutional rights of students."

All middle and high school students in Boyd County schools are required to attend the special training.

School policies and practice do not permit parents to opt their children out of the training, even if it violates their personal beliefs and morality, ADF said.

Religious Believers to be "Purged" from Conservativism?

Gay activist zealot Andrew Sullivan continues his campaign of hatred and demonization of traditional religious believers, stating: "The important point is that religious zealotry cannot be incorporated into conservatism. It is the nemesis of conservatism. And it has to be purged in order for conservatism to be revived." The intolerant Sullivan, whose primary commitment to obtaining affirmation of homosexual activity from the government and society at large has trumped any putative conservative principles he might have ever espoused, presumably would define religious zealotry as anyone with sincere religious and moral beliefs on the sinfulness of homosexual activity and, apparently, the sanctity of human life. I find it incredibly arrogant for Mr. Sullivan, who supported Mr. Kerry for president last November, and whose conservative bona fides is as eminently suspect in my book as the so-called "Log Cabin Republicans," to attempt to redefine conservatism so as to exclude traditional religious believers. I suppose Senators Schumer, Kerry and Kennedy, all of whom support a litmus test barring traditional Christian believers from the judiciary, would be considered conservative under the proposed Sullivan test.

"GayPatriot" Blog Silenced

It would appear that gay activist outing thugs have succeeded in silencing the blog "Gaypatriot", a refreshingly dissident voice within the "gay" community. As Mrs. Cheney would say, these are not decent people.

"No Place in Enlightened Political Debate"

Katherine Lopez of NRO's "Corner" rightly points out here (scroll down to March 7) that the Boston Globe, in an editorial critizing Massachusetts Governor Romney for statements against same sex "marriage," apparently believes that any sentiments against the same have "no place in enlightened political debate."

The Globe editorial specifically states, "Tearing people down because of their beliefs, skin color, gender, sexual orientation -- or anything else that is a description, not a character flaw -- has no place in enlightened political debate." The Globe here is arrogantly assuming that all would agree that same sex attraction is merely a description and not a character flaw. But that is precisely the issue about which there is disagreement in society, and about which people have a right to disagree.

As someone who experiences same sex attraction, I personally believe that same sex attraction is a character flaw, as is the inclination to any sin. The Globe may disagree, but I have the right to my opinion, which is based on my reason, experience and faith, and I don't believe I am a particularly "unenlightened" person because of it. Once again, the liberal left shows its lack of dedication to freedom of speech and thought and its eternal willingness to demonize anyone who disagrees with them.

Meanwhile: Sensitizing the Heteronormativists

In the fever swamps of the gay activist left at Harvard University, speech like the following apparently will get one into trouble as too "heteronormative":

"Women, you can have it all - a loving man, devoted husband, loving children, a fabulous career. We are a new generation of women. We got to set a new standard of rules around here. To my men, open your mind, open your eyes to new ideas. Be open."

Christian Loses Suit Over "Gay" Jesus Case

If this story is accurate, it is quite disturbing. It reminds me of the former Soviet Union, where political dissidents were sentenced to the insane asylum for their views.

Judge strikes down California Ban on Gay Marriage as Unconstitutional

Good analysis here:

Hijacking Marriage for Societal Homosexual Acceptance

The following is an except from the above. I'm glad someone else realizes that the point of same sex "marriage" is not freedom, but government affirmation of sinful homosexual behavior:

One only has to look at what California law has offered to gay couples in place of gay marriage to see that the rights and privileges given to married couples is not their main motivation for their activism. In California, Civil Unions provide rights and protections to gay couples that were previously reserved for those that legally marry. The only real right refused is the right to use the term “marriage” to legally describe the relationship. So why are the liberal judges and gay activists resisting Civil Unions? What Judge Kramer and the gay lobbyists really want from the legalization of gay marriage is the credibility that the term marriage offers to those that are homosexual.
